Prerequisites: None

Target Group: Ophthalmic personal who wish to learn to perform retinal fundus photography and fluorescein angiography, or improve their basic skills.

Course level: Basic. This course will teach students with little or no experience the anatomy of a retinal fundus camera and the technical skills to properly operate a retinal fundus camera so that he or she can effectively perform retinal photography and fluorescein angiography in a clinical setting.

Instructional Objectives: Upon completion of this course, students should be able to:

1. Photograph the human retina with film or a digital imaging system.
2. Produce stereo pairs of the retina as desired.
3. Perform fluorescein angiograms.
4. Recognize common retinal disorders.
5. Maintain and trouble shoot the retinal fundus camera.
6. Develop black and white film angiograms, or save and archive them in digital format.
