Prerequisites: none.

Target Group: All interested ophthalmic personnel.

Course level: Basic to Intermediate.

Course Description: This course will teach students with little or no experience how to use an Ocular Coherence Tomography Unit (OCT) to perform retinal and optic nerve fundus imaging.

Length of Course: One day - 7 Hours.

Instructional Objectives: Upon completion of this course, the student will be able to:

  1. Describe the purpose of Ocular Coherence Tomographer
  2. Identify components of an OCT.
  3. Perform the steps necessary to acquire OCT digital images.
  4. Determine the quality of the images made.
  5. Decide which method of imaging is appropriate for any particular patient.
  6. Evaluate the results in the comparative program for the system.
  7. Produce images consistently and troubleshoot specific problems with either the OCT system or the individual patient.
