Prerequisites: none.
Target Group: All interested ophthalmic personnel.
Course level: Basic to Intermediate.
Course Description: This course will teach students with little or no experience how to use an Ocular Coherence Tomography Unit (OCT) to perform retinal and optic nerve fundus imaging.
Length of Course: One day - 7 Hours.
Instructional Objectives: Upon completion of this course, the student will be able to:
- Describe the purpose of Ocular Coherence Tomographer
- Identify components of an OCT.
- Perform the steps necessary to acquire OCT digital images.
- Determine the quality of the images made.
- Decide which method of imaging is appropriate for any particular patient.
- Evaluate the results in the comparative program for the system.
- Produce images consistently and troubleshoot specific problems with either the OCT system or the individual patient.
